Smoke signals dealt with the Coeur d'Alene (sp?) tribe, though his father did happen to settle down near Navajo country. I personally thought the best part of the movie was the choreography of the scene where Gary Farmer leaves the family, and the little boy runs out after him, grabs the truck and rides it for that short stretch, before Farmer jumps out takes him from the bed of the pickup, and embraces him before setting him down and taking off, for good. Do you remember that embrace?, it was the peak of the scene. Also, Burnt by the Sun, a searingly passionate indictment of the most evil person, perhaps, ever? Whatever evil is, whatever gradations of evil are.
